Mobile NG Photon
In development
Electric studio glass furnace NG photon, developed in 2024. The first modern furnace in a long time that reflects the needs of today’s glassmakers.
Economical, safe, and fully automatic operation, with variable usage options. The maximum power output of the furnace is 25kW/h, with an average consumption of 5-15kW/h.
The NG photon furnace combines the melting part with the working part in one compact body. It is both a furnace and glory hole, eliminating additional costs for acquiring and operating a traditional pot furnace. The NG photon furnace is designed primarily for the most economical operation, the simplest maintenance, safety, and without the need for continuous supervision, unlike traditional gas furnaces.
The furnace can be turned on and off as needed, which has not been common until now. This is made possible by the most modern refractory materials developed specifically for electric furnaces. They tolerate temperature changes much better and have a thermal tolerance of 1700+ °C, which is also the maximum temperature of the heating elements from Kanthal. The new materials are also characterized by greater resistance to corrosion from materials generated during the melting of glass batch.
The furnace has very compact dimensions. It is about one-third smaller compared to similar furnaces. The furnace’s footprint is triangular, allowing it to be placed in a corner of the room, taking up the least space. A free-standing pot with dimensions of 40×40 28 liters can handle approximately 55-60 kg of glass per day.
Crucibles from Rath, Magma ceramic, Keramo Plus, Fastner, etc., can be used without any problems. Replacing the crucible in the NG photon furnace is very simple. The entire front part of the furnace stands independently on wheels and can be moved aside, providing unrestricted access to the furnace for easy crucible replacement and basic maintenance.
The NG photon furnace has no chimney, so there is no waste heat. There are no combustion gas pressures in the furnace, and there is no risk of heat escaping outside the furnace body, making it suitable even for enclosed historical buildings, etc.
The furnace is quiet and features completely automatic operation. No specially trained personnel are required to operate the furnace. The furnace can heat itself and has an automatic melting program. The furnace can be monitored and oparated online by mobile app or on a PC.
All components for the furnace construction come from local suppliers, ensuring quick, stable and quality service.
The furnaces are built according to standard EU safety norms for electrical devices.
