Studio NG Photon our Big Boy
The most advanced NG photon studio glass furnace that reflects the needs of today’s glassmakers…
Available from mid-2025.
The furnace is also a Glory hole. Economical, safe and fully automatic operation with complete control and management online via mobile app or pc. The maximum output of the furnace is 25 kW/h with an average consumption of 5-15 kW/h.
The furnace’s footprint is triangular, allowing it to be placed in a corner of the room.
Key Ideas We had in mind
Compact and economical:
The NG Photon furnace combines the melting part with the working part in one compact body. It is both a furnace and glory hole, eliminating additional costs for acquiring and operating a traditional pot furnace. The NG Photon furnace is designed primarily for the most economical operation, the simplest maintenance, safety, and without the need for continuous supervision, unlike traditional gas furnaces.

Advanced materials used:
The furnace can be turned on and off as needed, which has not been common until now. This is made possible by the most modern refractory materials developed specifically for electric furnaces. They tolerate temperature changes much better and have a thermal tolerance of 1700+ °C, which is also the maximum temperature of the heating elements from Kanthal. The new materials are also characterized by greater resistance to corrosion from materials generated during the melting of glass batch.
Space saving design:
The furnace has very compact dimensions. It is about one-third smaller compared to similar furnaces. The furnace’s footprint is triangular, allowing it to be placed in a corner of the room, taking up the least space. A free-standing pot with dimensions of 40×40 28 liters can handle approximately 55-60 kg of glass per day.
Opened for other consumables:
Crucibles from Rath, Magma ceramic, Keramo Plus, Fastner, etc., can be used without any problems. Replacing a crucible in an NG photon furnace couldn’t be easier. No more hammers and wrenches. The entire front of the furnace stands independently on castors and can be moved aside, allowing unrestricted access to the furnace for easy crucible changes and basic maintenance.
Favourable feature:
The NG photon furnace has no chimney, so there is no waste heat. There are no combustion gas pressures in the furnace, and there is no risk of heat escaping outside the furnace body, making it suitable even for enclosed historical buildings, etc.
Easy operation:
The furnace is quiet and features completely automatic operation. No specially trained personnel are required to operate the furnace. The furnace can heat itself and has an automatic melting program. The furnace can be monitored and operated online by mobile app or on a PC.
Top quality:
All components for the furnace construction come from local suppliers, ensuring quick, stable and quality service. The furnaces are built according to standard EU safety norms for electrical devices. The production, service and sale of furnaces is provided by our mother company: Niesenglass Switzerland GmbH.
